Stella’s Birthday

On Saturday, November 28, 2015, great joy filled the house of the Haifa kehilla. Tens of people – members of the Haifa kehilla, residents of the city and even members of the Jerusalem kehilla – were there. Father David, head of the Hebrew speaking kehillot, also came especially to join in the celebration. The many visits jam packed the house, which was too narrow to allow everyone in. They all came to honor Stella and to rejoice with her on her 90th birthday.

It was fascinating to listen to the stories that the visitors told about Stella, in whom the members of the kehilla and also many residents of Haifa see a grandmother, a mother, a sister and a friend. In his homily, Father Roman pointed out that Stella is like a prophetess in her generation, looking always to the children and their needs.

Of course the excellent food brought by the guests contributed greatly to the joy of the celebration. On this same day, those present also remembered Father Roman’s birthday which is on Monday. May the Lord grant Stella energy and health to continue with the same strength and the same heart full of love.
