The Sea of Galilee is one of the silent witnesses during the time of Jesus. It played a major role in His ministry. Today, the Sea plays a major role in our Christian faith. It became a favorite destination of Filipino migrant workers here in the country.

The Good Shepherd Filipino Catholic Community in Jerusalem made the almost 3-hour trip to Galilee as part of their yearly pilgrimage. Due to the large number of trippers, the community decided to divide the trip goers into two groups. The first batch visited Galilee last October 11 and the second, last November 15.

The group had their Mass first on the boat which sailed from Ginosar to Capernaum. It was a great way to have a feel of and bond with the Sea of Galilee. Afterwards, the group went on a sightseeing tour of Goren Park, overlooking the ruins of the Montfort Castle. The last destination was the Adamit Park, where everybody was awed by the lush green of the north of the country as seen from the Keshet Cave.

It was a long, tiring day but as a whole, it was a meaningful and fulfilling journey. It is a way for the community to bond together and strengthen its faith. Everybody was happy and that can be seen in the picture.
