First communion in Haifa

Father Roman, responsible for the Haifa kehilla, reports on a celebration in the Haifa kehilla on Saturday evening, October 31, 2015.

kyle communion

On the eve of the Feast of All Saints, we celebrated in the Haifa kehilla a special event. Kyle, a member of our kehilla and of the Desert Flower youth group, received first communion. He became a member of our community about a year and a half ago and arrived with the request to receive the Body of Christ. He joined the religion classes of the youth and we discovered that the youth are all good friends as they study in school together. All the youth participated in the celebration together with Kyle’s family and the other members of the kehilla.

Benny, a seminarian for our kehillot, also attended our celebration as he knows the youth very well. He sang for us, with the help of two brave girls, the beautiful song “Be saints, you are my beloved”, which served as the anthem for the summer children’s camps.

Kyle and his friends are now preparing to receive confirmation at Pentecost. We wish them much happiness and courage on their way to sainthood as they follow Jesus Christ.
