The Pope is scheduled to meet with President Barack Obama and others civil authorities and the heads of the Catholic Church in the US. Likewise, he will canonize Blessed Junipero Serra, a Spanish Franciscan missionary in California. The Pope will address a joint session of the Congress and the Senate and will also address the United Nations. He will participate in an interfaith service at Ground Zero, where the Twin Towers once stood. Finally, he will participate in the World Meeting of Families, held this year in Philadelphia.
