Youth prayer evening in Beer Sheva

Father Piotr reports on a prayer evening for the youth in Beer Sheva parish, held on Tuesday, September 8, 2015.

beersheba youth prayer

On Tuesday evening the youth from the Beer Sheva kehilla prayed at the beginning of the new year of school. Benny, our seminarian, came to Beer Sheva in order to visit the youth. His presence was a great occasion to organize the prayer meeting.

Eleven persons, including Benny and Father Piotr came to entrust the new academic year into the hands of God. The reading of the passage from the Epistle to Ephesians reminded us that we are not alone on our way - the Lord is always with us. He gives us spiritual "weapons" in order to struggle against problems and temptations.

The prayer of a student comes from the new “Prayer book for the Families”:

Come, Holy Spirit, Divine Creator,
true source of light and fountain of wisdom!
Pour forth your brilliance upon my dense intellect,
dissipate the darkness which covers me,
that of sin and of ignorance.
Grant me a penetrating mind to understand,
a retentive memory,
method and ease in learning,
the lucidity to comprehend,
and abundant grace in expressing myself.
Guide the beginning of my work,
direct its progress,
and bring it to successful completion.
This I ask through Jesus Christ,
true God and true man,
living and reigning with You
and the Father, forever and ever.
Amen.
