Holy Land Bishops send New Year greetings

On the occasion of Rosh HaShana, the Jewish New Year, the Assembly of Catholic Ordinaries of the Holy Land sent their wishes to the religious and civil authorities in Israel and to Jewish collaborators in the social apostolate of the Church.

Jewish New Year wishes from the
Assembly of Catholic Ordinaries of the Holy Land

O come, let us sing to the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation!
2 Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise!
3 For the LORD is a great God, and a great King above all gods.
(Psalm 95:1-3)

We wish you and all our Jewish brothers and sisters a blessed New Year of 5776. In the New Year we hope to work together with you with even more commitment, courage and insistence for justice and peace, for pardon and reconciliation, in this land and throughout the world. As the Church prepares to enter into a Jubilee Year of Mercy, we pray that together our hearts open to show mercy to those who need it most.
