Farewell to Filipino students

On August 28, 2015, the Filipino agriculture students, who had been volunteering in the Our Lady Woman of Valor Pastoral Center in south Tel Aviv were given a send-off. Sister Lerma reports:

agriculture students

Father Michael Grospe, director of the OLWV Pastoral Center, together with the parishioners and volunteers held a send-off party for the young agriculture students from the Philippines. The trainees arrived in September 2014 to work in factories and farms as part of their ‘on job training’ program which is organized by their respective schools before graduation. It aims to encourage students to be more disciplined, resourceful and to become more responsible inside and outside their schools.

For this sad event, we prepared a meal, sang, laughed and acknowledged the diligence of the students who were with us in serving the community every weekend since December of last year. They left Israel in the first week of September and hopefully a new group shall be arriving this month.

Congratulations to the graduating students and our heartfelt thanks! Glory be to God!
