It is time to forgive: a song for Yom Kippur

The Israeli singer, Yoav Yitshaq, sings a song, "It is time to forgive" that is suitable as a prayer of pardon and forgiveness as we approach Yom Kippur.

The song is composed according to a popular Armenian melody and the words were originally written by the American Armenian composer Ara Dikanjian and translated into Hebrew.

The words of the song are:
The road to happiness is still a long one,
paved with many obstacles,
a time to smile and be happy but also to cry,
but how beautiful, so beautiful is life,
this is the time to forgive,
to forego and to forget,
even if it is difficult,
together the two of us will still change everything,
no need to flee or flatten the truth,
you and I will not change this world.

I lift my two eyes to on high,
I ask answers to questions,
there is no response and no one knows,
if we will meet at the end of the road.

It is the time to forgive,
to forego and forget,
even if it is difficult,
together the two of us will change everything,
no need to flee or flatten the truth,
you and I will not change this world.
