Tens of children gathered at the Saint James Vicariate on Monday afternoon to celebrate the end of a full program of summer activities for children. On Tuesday morning, the children will return to school and continue to frequent the Vicariate only in the after school hours.

The celebration included a delicious dinner catered by the mothers. The diversity of the children means a diversity of cuisines with the strongest kitchens being those of the Filipino and Eritrean/Ethiopian communities. After the good food, the children gathered in the chapel together with some of the mothers and fathers who could get there on time in order to watch a series of photos, recording the various activities. The children were delighted to identify themselves in the pictures.

Finally, mass was celebrated by Father David, a time to thank the Lord for the joys and experience of this past summer. At the end of mass, Father David reminded the children to say thank you to the team of adult counselors, who had worked so hard to make the summer a fun time. In particular, thanks are due to Claudia, Daniele, Sister Claudia, Rosela, Gabriele and so many others who helped out including Antonio, Hanna, Vincent, Tom, Sister Rita, the young people from Milan and many others!
