In the light of the recent decision of the Israeli High Court to limit the time of detention for asylum seekers in Holot, the statistics regarding the number of asylum seekers in Israel were published by the Central Bureau of Statistics.
There are 45 091 asylum seekers in Israel: 33 057 from Eritrea (73 %), 8506 from Sudan (19%), 2941 from countries outside of Africa (7%) and 587 from other African countries (1%).
In 2015, until June, 41 asylum seekers entered the country and 1382 left.
In 2014, 21 entered and 6414 left.
In 2013, 43 entered and 2612 left.
