Visit from Philippines Embassy to Nazareth community

Father Bienvenido OFM, chaplain of the Holy Family Filipino community in Nazareth reports:

nazareth filipinosIt had been announced to the HFFCN that a staff member from the Philippines Embassy in Tel Aviv would come to Mensa Christi Chapel for a visit, so as to enable the migrant workers living in the area to renew their OWWA registration. They did come, led by Atty. Rodolfo G. Gabasan, the Chief Labor attaché. That is why, the chapel was filled almost to the sitting capacity with members as well as some sisters of the SMC who had made their retreat at Nazareth the past week. Some of us also filed their application for a voter’s ID. Through Ms. Alice Lim, the much needed input on Financial Literacy was given to those who were interested in it. I myself sat down to listen to the input, which I found meeting the need that was expressed in the previous meeting of the chaplaincies held at the Tel Aviv Centre for Migrants. We hope to show once again the power point presentation on Financial Literacy, so as to guide better all our HFFCN migrants in the financial management of their earnings and expenses.

We are grateful to our brothers and sisters from the Embassy for the short visit to our Nazareth/Afula community.
