Desert Flower on the water

Members of the Desert Flower youth group who helped during the summer camp for Hebrew speaking children spent Saturday, August 1, 2015, relaxing in kayaks on the Jordan River.

Claudia from the Saint James Vicariate organized the day of fun. Fathers Roman and Piotr accompanied the youth. The idea was to spend some quality time together and to enjoy the fruit of being a good team. Those who had worked hard during the ten days of camp, being guides for the children groups, animators
of activities or helping as technical support, could now relax during for a day on the water.

Despite transportation difficulties, it was possible to gather the youth from Jerusalem, Tiberias, Haifa and Beer Sheba. The last ones had to drive for three hours to get to Kfar Blum. A group of fifteen participants divided into four boats and started the ride down the River Jordan. It was three and a half hours
of fun: waterfalls and white water sections as well as easy and sunny moments. We started a few water battles and made friends with a nice Druze family. The shores of the river were full of people spending
their time with families, barbecue and music. We even met some Lebanese kids that we knew from the children camp that had just ended.

Besides a small episode with Benny hitting a tree and falling down the river, losing one pair of glasses and an earring, there were no dangerous moments.
