First communion in Tiberias

On Saturday evening, June 27, 2015, the Hebrew mass in Tiberias was especially blessed with the event of a first holy communion. Charbel had waited with great expectancy and had prepared himself with enthusiasm and attention to receive Jesus in the bread and wine.

He was surrounded by his family, the parish community and friends who rejoiced in his taking a new step closer to Jesus and deeper into the body of Christ. The Mass was presided by Father Giuseppe accompanied by Father Giacomo. Following the preaching of the Gospel, Father Giuseppe motivated the assembly, especially little Charbel, to not be afraid because Jesus is always with us. The Hebrew speaking Catholic community in Tiberias celebrated both the Mass and the party afterwards in a spirit of joy and gratitude for the gift of community founded on Jesus the living rock.
