Jaffa kehilla trip to the Sea of Galilee

On Friday and Saturday, May 29 and 30, 2015, the members of the Jaffa kehilla went on a trip to the area of the Sea of Galilee. Kirill reports.

jaffa tabgha1“Do you love me?” Jesus asked Simon Pater on the shores of the Sea of Galilee. In this same way, he asked the members of the Jaffa kehilla during last weekend’s trip. “Where is God, where is Jesus, where is the Holy Spirit, where is love in our lives?”, these difficult questions motivated each one to look deep into him/herself, deep into their souls.

However, in my opinion, the answer to these questions lies before the eyes of those who saw the tents set up and the evening meal prepared. It was there in the prayer around the small campfire, in the magnificent sunrise and breakfast, along the way made through Bannias, the mass celebrated at Tabgha and the lunch that followed. The answer was there throughout the evening, night and day that were filled with happiness, serenity, freedom and joy of life – singing a song of praise to God within each one. Love was the answer, love of Jesus, love of God, love of one another! Everyone delighted in the company of the other, children and adults, and God helped by bestowing wonderful, comfortable weather on the whole country. A light breeze with some drops of rain in the morning, pleasant waters of the Sea of Galilee full of fish, everything made the traveler feel comfortable. I am sure that everyone gave thanks to God!
