Priest meeting - 1 May 2015


The priests of the Hebrew speaking Catholic communities in Israel met on Friday, May 1, 2015 in the Saint James Vicariate in Jerusalem.

Present were twelve priests, among whom were those responsible for the kehillot in Jerusalem, Jaffa, Haifa, Tiberias and the priests working with the Russian speaking communities. A new Indian priest from the community of the Fathers of the Sacred Heart of Betharam, Father Jose, joined the meeting for the first time.

The meeting began with an exchange about Sunday's Gospel and this was followed by news from the different communities.

The following subjects were then discussed:

 The canonization of Marie-Alphonsine Ghattas and Mariam Baouardy in Rome on May 17, 2015

 The family week end in Tiberias

 The celebration of 60 years of the Hebrew language Catholic communities

 Keeping the internet site up to date

 The end of the renovations of the kehilla house in Beer Sheba

 The publication of a book of prayer for the families

 Summer vacations and absences of the priests

 Summer camp for the children

 The youth group Desert Flower

 Revising the newsletter Kol Rina for Rosh HaShana

 Spiritual retreat on Yom Kippour

 Kehilla day for Sukkot

 Retreat of the priests

The priests then took lunch together.
