It is a tradition that after the Easter family day that is celebrated on Easter Sunday, the children say farewell to their parents and join the Easter camp that is held in the Salesian monastery in Beit Jemal, near Beit Shemesh. This year a record number participated in the camp: 15 adult counselors, 12 youth from the Desert Flower youth group and 55 children from the various kehillot.

The theme of the camp was Easter. Each day the children participated in a variety of activities: religion classes, art, dance, games, sport and survival. They participated in morning prayer and mass, had lots of fun times, a film each evening and also times for prayer and quiet. The religion classes focused on reliving the Easter Tridium through the study of three icons: the Last Supper, the Crucifixion and the Resurrection. In the art classes they prepared a memento of Easter for their families.

We are very grateful to the Salesian Fathers for their warm welcome and to Church in Need for helping to finance this important activity for Hebrew speaking Catholic children.
