On Saturday, March 28, 2015, the members of the Jerusalem and Jaffa kehillot gathered for a common day of retreat. Rivka reports:

Last Saturday, the members of the Jerusalem and Jaffa kehillot, together with their pastors, Fathers Rafic and Apolinary, assembled at the convent of the Sisters of Sion in Ein Karem for a retreat day as we are entering Holy Week. The retreat day focused on Palm Sunday that would be celebrated the following day. The morning began with morning prayer which was followed by a short presentation by Rivka on the entry of Jesus into Jerusalem according to the different books of the Gospel and its connection with the rest of Holy Week. There was silent time for prayer and small groups were formed to speak about the significance of Palm Sunday for each one of us.

At lunch, there was time for meeting one another while eating a delicious soup prepared by the sisters and enjoying the different dishes brought by each one of the kehilla members. In the afternoon, those present gathered to hear Father Rafic talk about the Passion of Christ and again time for silent prayer. The day was brought to a close with the celebration of mass, a real thanksgiving for a beautiful day – and we did not forget to thank the sisters and brothers of Sion who receive us each year!
