Catholic bishops send Passover greetings

The Assembly of Catholic Ordinaries of the Holy Land sent greetings to the Jewish religious and civil authorities and to the organizations that work for peace, justice and equality in Israel for the upcoming holiday of Passover.

On Monday, March 30, 2015, the heads of the Catholic Church in the Holy Land sent Passover greetings to their Jewish colleagues, the civil authorities and those working for a better society. The text of the greeting was:

“I will sing to the Lord, for he has triumphed gloriously; horse and rider he has thrown into the sea” (Exodus 15:1)

The Catholic Ordinaries of the Holy Land and their Commission for Relations with the Jewish People wish you, your family and your friends a very blessed feast of Passover.

Jews and Christians celebrate at this time the passage from darkness to light, from the tomb to the land of the free, from death to life. We want to recommit to strive for freedom for all from all chains of slavery.
