Israeli Values: 75 Letters by Religious Leaders

On Monday (31.07) in the Synagogue of Moreshet Avraham took place a meeting to promote the 75 letters about Israeli values written by various religious leaders. Fr. Piotr presented the Christian texts.

The evening was full of music and reflection. People came from various communities and synagogues. Rabbi Lana Zilberman Soloway introduced the initiative and explained its goal. "The State of Israel was born as a country that combines a variety of different worlds, values and people coming from multiple traditions, cultures and voices - all of which predate its existence. Celebration of Israel’s 75th birthday invites us all to touch once again its basic foundations, and by using them, to create a new vision which will illuminate all our lives. While Israeli society is more divided than perhaps ever before, and filled with raging voices of hatred, we ask to remind ourselves and others who we are and why we all gathered here together. What are the core values that should stand at the center of conversation, and can lead Israel and all its inhabitants to a better future in the years to come? We created:

Israeli Values * Religious Voices

75 letters written by 75 Religious leaders from different faiths.

75 values for 75 years of the State of Israel

75 quotes from different traditions - all teach us how we can be and do better.

From Rosh Chodesh Shvat until Yom Ha'atzmaut - one letter a day.

We believe it is possible to live on this land together, with partnership, respect, harmony and good neighborly relationships. Together, we will bring back hope!"

Fr. Piotr presented the Christian authors and their letters: Fr. Alberto Joan Pari (Hospitality), Fr. Roman Kaminski (Love), Fr. Benedetto Francesco Di Bitonto (Maturity and Wisdom), Fr. José Enrique de Castro Manglano (Fidelity), Rev. Dr. Oliver Hersey (Remembering), Pastor Daniel Kopp (Universal Values), Hyam Tannous (Synergy and Light).
